January 12, 1946 – March 14, 2025
William "Bill" Reed Sr. passed away peacefully on March 14, 2025, after a long and courageous battle with Parkinson’s disease. He was 79 years old.
Born to Josephine "Curtis" Reed and William H. Reed, Bill grew up with a strong work ethic and a passion for life. He graduated from Higgins Classical Institute in 1964 and went on to attend the University of Maine at Orono and the University of Southern Maine. He began his career as a real estate agent before transitioning into retail, working for W.T. Grant Co., Nelson & Small, Sears Roebuck, and later Cabot House.
Bill had a deep love for baseball, classic cars, and fitness. He enjoyed weightlifting and swimming, and later in life, he found peace in long walks and scenic drives around the state. These simple joys became even more meaningful as time slowed down.
He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Marguerite "Wilke" Reed; his children, William Reed Jr. and his partner Lori Kuwik, and Lisa Reed; his grandchildren, Camilla "Reed" Morin and her wife Marissa Morin, Cameron Reed, Caroline Reed, and step-grandchild Kaitlyn Kuwik.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated on Saturday, April 12, at 11:00 AM at Holy Martyrs Church in Falmouth, ME.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research at https://www.michaeljfox.org/ , honoring Bill’s fight against the disease that took so much from him.
Bill’s family will remember him for his strength, resilience, and the love he shared. His legacy lives on in the hearts of those who knew him.
