Nancy Rose Lowell

(1943 - 2023)

NORTH YARMOUTH - Nancy Rose Irving Lowell passed away at Maine Medical Center in Portland on January 3, 2023, after a bad fall. She was born in Portland, ME, on June 5, 1943, to Rose (Hayden) and Dave Irving of Gorham. She grew up in Gorham and attended Gorham Schools.

Growing up she was active in Brownies, Girl Scouts, the school band, high school basketball, and the First Parish Congregational Church. At age 17, she met the love of her life, Dick Lowell, and they were married for 60 years. They were blessed with two wonderful sons.

She had many jobs throughout her lifetime at Thurston’s Fried Clam Stand, Nissen’s Bakery, Woolworth’s, Teacher’s Aide at SAD #51, Sun Savings and Loan, Loring Bank Stationers, Women to Women in Yarmouth, Brentwood Rehab, Blueberry Farms, AAA Travel, and TD Bank North.

Nancy and Dick have resided in North Yarmouth for the past 53 years. One son, Christopher, has lived in Hawaii for over 30 years. Nancy and Dick made many trips to visit him and his family and enjoyed traveling to many other places all over the world. The other son Rick lives in Portland and operates two comic book stores, Casablanca Comics, in Portland and Windham.

She is survived by husband Dick, son Rick Lowell (and Laura O’Meara,) son Chris (and Nancy) Lowell, grandchildren Callen Lowell, Duncan Lowell, Adam Lowell, Ava Lowell, and Aiden Lowell; siblings Mary Fantucchio, Meadow (and Mahlon) Welch, brother Dave (and Donna) Irving Jr., and several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service on Saturday, January 14, 2023 at the North Yarmouth Congregational Church; 3 Gray Road, North Yarmouth at 11:00 a.m. Friendship gathering will follow the service at the church event hall. Burial will be at a later date.
