Marilyn Alice Rowe

December 31, 1937 – June 9, 2018

FREEPORT - Marilyn Alice Rowe, 80, of Freeport passed peacefully in her home, on Saturday, June 9, 2018. Born December 31, 1937 in Calais, Maine, Marilyn was preceded in death by her loving husband Horace (Phil), parents Dale and Mae Mahar and sister Janice Owens. Marilyn graduated high school, fell in love and married Phil. Over the next few years, they became the proud parents of their two sons, Kenneth and William.

Marilyn began her career as an Executive Secretary with E. E. Taylor Corp, then discovered a passion for travel, while pursuing her career with Prince of Fundy Cruises, culminating with her retirement as a Tourism Director with Maine Line Tours, in South Portland, Maine.

Although Marilyn achieved many professional accomplishments, she will be remembered most by those closest to her for her selflessness, unconditional support and words of encouragement. Her love and devotion to family will remain in the hearts and minds of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Marilyn leaves to cherish her memory, her son Kenneth Rowe and his wife Lisa of Tega Cay, SC; son William Rowe Sr. of Freeport; grandson William Rowe Jr. and his mother Annemarie Folan of Portland; granddaughter Lindsey Rowe of Little River, SC; great- granddaughter Meadow; brother-in-law Earle Rowe of Mt. Vernon; one niece, two nephews; and dear friends.
