Portland- Marguerite Houlihan passed away peacefully on September 25, 2015. The daughter of Edward Maxwell and Virginia White Maxwell, she was born on January 22, 1915 in Livermore, Maine. She was a longtime resident of Falmouth, Maine and most recently resided at Fallbrook Woods in Portland, Maine where she received the utmost in care from a kind and professional staff.
She was employed for over twenty years as a Textile Supervisor in both Lisbon Falls and Winthrop, Maine. She enjoyed cooking, painting, and playing Bridge.
Marguerite celebrated her 100th Birthday earlier this year and was very proud of the fact that she was the oldest living resident in the town of Falmouth. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
She was married in 1936 to William Houlihan who passed away in 1982. She is also pre-deceased by her two sons, James and Timothy Houlihan as well as her five sisters and three brothers.
She is survived by her granddaughter, Erin Varuolo, and her husband, John Varuolo of Parkland, Florida as well as her great-granddaughter, Alexandra Varuolo, also of Parkland, Florida.
There will be a private service for family members at a later date.
Arrangements are being handled by Lindquist Funeral Home, 1 Mayberry Lane, Yarmouth.
