Josh, a graduate of Yarmouth High School, was well known for his artistic abilities and creativity. Because of this special gift, Josh went on to study as an apprentice in the tattooing industry. He later successfully opened and operated his own tattoo business, Under the Skin Tattoo, in Portland. Josh was also heavily involved in the medical marijuana community as a caregiver and was very passionate about the benefits and advancement of this type of medical care.
He worked in landscaping and odd job services and was well known for lending a helping hand and assisting other small business owners in the local area.
In his adolescent years, Josh had many interests and was involved in activities including archery at Howells Gun Shop in Gray, ME. He also participated in dog agility exercises with the 4H group, with his beloved dog Cooler, where he was invited to fly to Florida and compete in the That’s My Dog tv show, coming away as the competing winner.
Josh was a patient, kind, and caring man who above all loved and cherished his family and most importantly his three children. Josh was well loved by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends and is deeply missed by all.
He was pre-deceased by his grandparents, Bertha and Richard Brewer Jr. and Colleen and Roger Martin.
He is survived by his daughter, Lailla Martin and her mother, Christine Casella and partner William Adkisson of Portland; beloved fiancé, Danyelle Hilton and her two children, Sean and Haylie of North Yarmouth; parents, James Martin and Brenda (Brewer) Martin of Yarmouth; sister, Jean Martin-Stearns and her husband Brandon.
Relatives and friends are invited to a time of visitation from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm on Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at Lindquist Funeral Home, 1 Mayberry Lane, Yarmouth, ME.
Joshua’s Celebration of Life will be held at 11 am on Thursday September 28th at the First Baptist Church of Yarmouth, 346 Main Street, Yarmouth, followed by a graveside service at Riverside Cemetery in Yarmouth.
