Falmouth - John Henry Jensen passed away on January 9, 2015 at home with his family by his side. John was born in Portland on January 20, 1930, a son of Ellen (Hall) and Henry Jensen, and lived in Falmouth most of his life.
John graduated from Falmouth High School in 1948 and attended the University of Maine in Orono, studying engineering. His education was put on hold as he served in the Army during the Korean War. He graduated in 1955 and began working for the Portland Pipeline, where he worked for 37 years, retiring in 1992.
John will be remembered for his quick wit and love of a joke. He had a lifelong passion for fishing and looked forward to his yearly fishing expedition to Big Lake. He also enjoyed golf and played tennis for many years. He was a talented painter and consummate tinkerer, able to fix most anything. He liked woodworking and made furniture and other items for his and his family's homes.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years Joan; his son Michael; his daughter Kathy; his granddaughter Lauren and niece Nickie Serber. He was predeceased by his brother Lawrence Dolley.
