Yarmouth - Edna Marie (Anderson) Gordan, 87, died on Monday, January 26, 2015, after a brief illness. She spent her last days surrounded by her family. Edna was born in 1927 in Yarmouth, where she lived all of her life. She was the daughter of Christian Anderson and Antoinette (Lowe) Anderson, who immigrated to the United States from Norway. She graduated from North Yarmouth Academy in 1945. In 1949, she married the love of her life, Earle Gordan.
Edna worked in a variety of jobs throughout her life, but her primary focus was raising her family with her husband and caring for others. She loved to ski, dance, and ride horses, but most of all, she loved to laugh. One of her favorite things was making Sunday morning breakfast for her family, where there was always too much to eat.
Edna is survived by her son James and his fiancée Patricia Beaulieu of Yarmouth; her son Brian and his wife Bridget of Yarmouth and their children Matthew, Kristen, and Stephen Pichette; her brother Christian Anderson of West Baldwin; and her nieces and nephew. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Earle, and her brother Arthur.
There will be a graveside service at Riverside Cemetery in Yarmouth later this spring. Please visit www.lindquistfuneralhome.com to view a video collage of Edna’s life and to share condolences, memories and tributes with her family.
In lieu of flowers, please send donations in Edna’s memory to: Merrill Memorial Library, 215 Main St, Yarmouth, ME, 04096.
