FALMOUTH - Douglas H. Doyle, 47, of Falmouth, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family at Maine Medical Center on August 21, 2015 after a very courageous battle with cancer. Born on February 12, 1968, he was the son of Gordon E. Doyle and the late Elizabeth (Bezanson) Doyle. He married the love of his life, the late Sandra Coffey on October 16, 1993.
He is survived by his loving father, Gordon E. Doyle, devoted brother, Brian E. Doyle, and his aunt Carolyn Doyle.
Doug was interested in history, watching old movies, taking walks, traveling and spending time with his family. He will be remembered for many things, including his distinctive and infectious laugh. He was devoted to taking care of Sandra during her valiant battle against melanoma.
Doug graduated from Falmouth High School in 1986. Following graduation Doug worked for Potter Lewis Builders. He became a member of the Falmouth Fire Department in 1985 and served until 2008. Doug became a reserve dispatcher for the Falmouth Police Department in 1991 and was hired full time on July 22, 1999 and was very dedicated to his work even after being diagnosed with cancer and continued to dispatch as many shifts as he could manage while undergoing treatment.
The visiting hours will be held on Friday, August 28, from 5 – 7 p.m., at Lindquist Funeral Home, One Mayberry Lane, Yarmouth and a funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 29, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with a burial to follow at Blanchard Cemetery, 215 Winn Road, Falmouth.
