She was born on April 19,1933 in Mars Hill, the only child of Frederick and Doris (Rees) Noble. She grew up in Freeport on the Noble Farm.
She was a retired Supervisor from LL Bean where she spent 25+ years leading the Alterations Department. They fondly remember the ‘Tarzan’ yell and her spirit. She would attend Retiree gatherings with friends she made through her years of service.
Autumn loved the Lord and His prayer. She was a member of the First Parish Congregational Church of Pownal where she could be found singing in the choir. She was part of the Prayer Warriors and attended retreats at Living Waters.
Autumn enjoyed putting together 300 piece puzzles because who has the time for more than that. She loved going out with her girlfriends and enjoyed being more adventurous tackling Bradbury Mountain along the way. She was known to spend some time at Oxford Casino, feeling the thrill of the slot machines while wishing for a little luck. She loved connecting with Family through Social Media. If you put something on Facebook, she would always chime in with words of encouragement and love.
Autumn was a twenty year survivor of Breast Cancer. She gave us all an example of courage and strength to draw upon when we needed it.
Autumn loved being surrounded by Family. She was the Matriarch of a Family that has grown to more than 70 members. This shows what the power and love of one person can create. From Summer BBQ’s to the Annual Christmas Breakfast, Autumn always relished in the opportunity to gather as many of us under one roof as she could. This was reciprocated during the pandemic when a parade of vehicles, led by patrol cars, fire trucks, and countless number of vehicles stuffed with Family members, drove through her driveway celebrating her 87th Birthday and making her feel the love she had spread to all of us! In November of 2021, she gathered with Family again, this time four Generations of Strong Women bonding together by receiving tattoos with the sign symbol of love with a small message written in her writing.
She is survived by six children Joleen Cavanaugh & husband Shawn, Robert Arris & wife Mary Jo, Rocky Norman & wife Sandy, Marla Corcoran (widow of Michael), Kelly Grant & husband Ron, and Lisa Neuts & husband Larry; 19 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren, and 5 great great grandchildren; cousins Dick and Judy and a sister and lifelong friend Janice Cobb.
Autumn was predeceased by her husband Gerald Arris, and children Lloyd Steven Arris, Jerry Norman and Kathy Norman.
A service will be held 11 am Saturday, April 15, 2023 at the First Parish Congregational Church, 422 Hallowell Road, Pownal.
