She was the eldest of two children. In 1935 Willie Mae was united in marriage to Bennie Haney, to this union one child was born. In 1951 she moved to Yakima WA. In 1955 she married Luther Hanie.
She worked at Del Monte from 1952-1955. She was a member at New Jerusalem Baptist Church. Willie Mae was one of the founders of New Jerusalem, mother of the church, on the deaconess board, usher, and started the birthday club. She was an Eastern Star. Willie Mae loved the Lord. She loved fishing.
She leaves to cherish her memories: daughter, Dorothy Miles, Pasco, WA; grandsons, Robert Gibson, Atlanta, GA, Michael Gibson (Beth), Albuquerque, NM, Glenn Gibson (Shirley), Yakima, WA, Carl Gibson (Tisha), Pasco, WA, and David Gibson, Pasco, WA; her granddaughters, Flora Catherine Gibson, Murrieta, CA, Linda Faye Gibson, Pasco, WA, Patricia Ann Gibson, Pasco, WA; 9 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, 44 great-great grandchildren, 7 great-great-great grandchildren, and a host of friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Annie and Willie Tarry, husband, Luther Hanie, sister, Irene Conner and grandson, Tony Gibson.
Visitation will be held Thursday, October 19, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at Langevin El Paraiso Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held Friday, October 20, 2017 at 11:00 a.m., also at the funeral home, with burial following at Terrace Heights Memorial Park.
