On October 11th, 2018 Villa Jane Damm peacefully passed away at Cottage in the Meadow after a short stay. She was born in Yakima on February 2nd, 1951 to Art and Donna Lynde of Yakima. After graduating from Davis High School, she went to work at Bailey’s Jeans Factory in the evening while enrolled at Yakima Business College. After completing that she started doing medical transcription for local doctors. In 1973 her uncle Duane introduced her to Don Damm, who fell in love with her and convinced her to marry him, and 10 years later they had Michael, their only son, who lives in San Francisco, CA.
She won many awards for clinical research that she did for local doctors including the International Who’s Who of Professional Management, CRC, CMA, CMT, the 2008 Presidential Award by President Bush for clinical research, and medical certificates from the University of Rochester School of Medicine at Strong Memorial Hospital. During her work years she had the opportunity to travel to Hawaii, Canada, Washington, D.C., Florida, Arizona, and California.
She was preceded in death by her parents and several uncles and aunts. She is survived by her husband Don Damm, her son Michael Damm, and three brothers, Sid Lynde, Jim Lynde and Tim Lynde. She will be missed by everyone who knew and loved her.
Viewing will be from 4 to 8 PM Friday, Oct. 19th at Keith & Keith Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at the gravesite on Saturday, Oct. 20th at 2 PM at West Hills Memorial Park.
