Thomas Joseph Mecca Sr.

Thomas (Tom) Mecca was born 5/19/22 in Yakima to Peter John & Theresa Mecca. He graduated in 1941 from Lower Naches High School.

After working in Bremerton Ship Yard, he entered the Army in 1942 in E.T.O. with the 12th Airborne as a Halftrack Driver. The surrender of Germany, when entering Austria, Tom was discharged in Feb 1946.

After the service he had 30 plus years in the Auto Body Repair along with farming. Tom was a member & past president of F.O.E. #289, lifelong member of VFW #379, American Legion #36, Lower Naches Grange #296 for 65 years.

Tom was married to Ruth for 50 years. He took care of his wife until she passed in 2000. Also preceded in death were Tom’s parents, baby sister Kathrine, also younger brother Vincent. Tom cherished his brothers & the time they spent together.

Tom is survived by his youngest brother, Mike & Jeanette; four children, Tom & Rozanne, Mike & Randi, Pat McCormick & Mary Theresa Lafferty; 13 grandchildren; 10 ½ great grandchildren; five great, great grandchildren.

There will be a time of visitation 4-8pm, Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at Keith & Keith Funeral Home, 902 W. Yakima Ave. Yakima, WA.

A Funeral Service is planned for 11am, Thursday, January 12th also at Keith and Keith Funeral Home.

Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
