Sue was born in Burley, ID, in October 1925. She graduated from Utah State University with a BS in Home Economics Education and taught high school in Clifton, ID, for two years. She continued using her education by making an excellent home for her husband Clyde and their six children. They made their home in Wapato for nearly fifty years.
Sue was known for her tireless service to others and to her church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and for her always cheerful and kind disposition. She was an excellent seamstress and she loved to knit, crochet, and embroider. Canning and cooking were also talents she shared and taught to others. Sue enjoyed entering her handiwork in county and state fairs where she won many ribbons throughout the years.
Sue was a leader of children’s groups, youth groups, and women’s groups throughout her life. She was also a 4-H leader. She loved people and loved being around her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Her husband Clyde and her daughter, Ceri Halverson (Tom), preceded her in death. She is survived by three daughters and two sons: Nicea Gedicks (Fred) of Orem, UT, Coy Heaton (Scott) of Orangevale, CA, Shawn Glenn (Greg) of American Canyon, CA, Bren Stimpson of Eagle Mountain, UT, and Shanon Stimpson of Wapato. She will be very much missed by her children, her twenty grandchildren and her forty great grandchildren.
There will be a visitation Friday, May 11, 2018 from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Toppenish 1st Ward, followed by a Funeral Service at 3:00 p.m.
