Shirley Roberts, 71 passed away quietly November 12th with family at her side at Good Samaritan in Yakima, WA after battling cancer. She was predeceased by her parents Ray and Floy Williams of Sacramento California, Husband, Harry Roberts of Yakima, three brothers and a sister. Shirley leaves behind four Brothers, Weldon Williarrs of Sacramento, CA, Galen Williams (Anna) of Chiloquin, Oregon, Darrell Williams (Milli~ of Weed, CA and Larry Williams (Kay) of Elk Grove, CA. Ten children, Dale McGinnis (Lelanie) of Rio Vista, CA, Vicki Blunck (Henry) of Rio Vista, CA, Bryan McGinnis (Jonna) of Bend, OR, Randy McGinnis (lrma) of Yakima, WA, Harry "Skip" Roberts (Debbie) of Yakima, WA, Robbie Roberts (Dora) of Yakima, WA, Debbie Beaman of Selah, W A, Richie Roberts of Yakima, W A, Mary Helen Vanleuvan of Monroe, W A and Betty Jo Maybee (Rick) of Yakima, WA, 24 Grandchildren and 23 Great Grandchildren. She worked as a waitress in California before marrying Harry in 1974 and moving to Yakima in 1976. Shirley also worked as a waitress in the restaurant of the Bon Marche for over ten years and ten years at Yakima Memorial Hospital in food services. Shirley committed her life to the Lord in 2004 at Open Bible Church of Yakima. She made many friends as a resident of "The Good Samaritan House", “The Blossom House" and finally "Chesterly Meadows", all of Yakima.
Shirley loved bowling on league with Harry and his brother Jim and wife Sue. Shirley had an uncanny sense of hurnor it was a big part of who she was, as she touched the funny bone of almost everyone she came in contact with. Just ask anyone who knew her as I am sure they'll have a story. Shirley and Harry had a place at the 12 West resort on Rimrock Lake for over twenty years and were regular weekend residents.
Celebration of life services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday November 27, 2010, at Langevin¬ Mussetter Funeral Home, Yakima.
In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to "Memorial Home Care Services" 1019 South 40th Avenue Yakima, WA in Shirley's name as appreciation for the hospice care.
