Sharon Lee (Stewart) Kennard, 62, passed away peacefully in her sleep Friday October 11, 2013. She was born in Ukaih, California and moved to Yakima as a child. She graduated from A.C. Davis High School in 1969 and married Jimmy Kennard in 1970. Together they built a home, raised four boys and a daughter.
Her greatest joy was raising a family and becoming a grandmother. With her husband serving as the Fire Chief of the Fruitvale Fire Department, she was active serving in the Lady’s Auxiliary and a tremendous asset to the volunteer firefighter family. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, crafting, and scrap booking pictures of her beloved family.
She was baptized as a Jehovah’s Witness in1974; she enjoyed bible study and sharing her faith with others.
Sharon is preceded in death by her parents; Lois Gilbert and Frank Stewart, Sr. She is survived by her husband Jimmy Kennard, stepmother; Jan Peck, brothers; Frank (Paula) Stewart and Bruce (Sheilah) Stewart, sisters; Susan Allen, Tamara Pordon, and Fia Tanksley, sons; Rob (Darcy), Tim (Rebecca), Nick (Jacci), and Ryan (Bellanca), daughter; Kristi (Riley), and grandchildren Victoria, Efrain, Callie and Madilyn.
