Our beautiful mother Sally Esther Diaz left us suddenly on February 8, 2024. She was born on April 19, 1943 in Cheyenne Wyoming to Carlos and Fransisca (Carillo) Diaz. She had a large family, and together they farmed in different areas of the country before settling in Yakima, WA in 1949.
In her life, Sally had 2 children whom she loved so very much,(Claude) Bryant and Christina. She took pride in her children, always making sure they felt loved and took the utmost care of them. This unconditional love overflowed over to her grandchildren, they were literally the light of her life. She always helped to care for them, take them out to eat, played games with them, and took it upon herself to teach them their letters and numbers before starting school. Its safe to say she was very proud of all of her grandchildren.
Sally was a paraeducator for 20 years, it was a job she loved doing. It was always a joy working with children and having an impact on their education. She made so many friends throughout the school district, her contagious smile always lit up the room wherever she went. Her caring and generous soul didn’t go unnoticed. After retirement, Sally enjoyed working in her yard for hours at a time, it was therapeutic to her. She also enjoyed thrift shopping and spending time with her family as often as she could. Anyone that knows her knows that she couldn’t sit still for very long, she was always busy doing something, whether it’d be cleaning her house, or taking her sister to the store.
Sally is survived by her children C. Bryant (Marianne) Lees, Christina (Colin) Brown, grandchildren; Montana, Alexa, Ash, Angela, and Arik, sisters Josie and Mary, and brother Pete. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Frances, Eva, and Annie, and brothers Gilbert and Gerald. The mark she left on this world will never be forgotten. We will always remember her beautiful spirit and smile.
A Memorial Service will be held Friday, March 8, 2024 at 11:00 am at Langevin El Paraiso Funeral Home.
