Ron Rogers passed away in his home in the arms of his devoted wife Loretta, after a brief battle with cancer. Ron was born in San Jose, on August 24, 1947 to Ed & Rose Rogers.
Ron grew up in California, and eventually married his first wife, Nancy; together they had a son, Paul Pelt. After a brief marriage Ron met and married his second wife, Grace. Grace and Ron had 3 sons together, Ronnie, Steve and Sean. Ron then moved his family to the Yakima Valley, to escape California traffic in the early 80’s. Ron worked as a diesel mechanic for Wholesale Truck Parts. Ron then met his third and final wife Loretta. Loretta had an infant son, Will, whom Ron loved and raised as his own child. Ron and Loretta were married January 1, 1989.
Ron enjoyed socializing, going for drives, enjoying the outdoors, steelhead fishing and rebuilding hot rods. His most beloved hobby was working with his stereo equipment and listening to music. He briefly owned and operated his own business, Roger’s Audio, where he specialized in high end stereo equipment. Ron spent 18 years with his “daughter” Tasha, a Red Siberian Husky whom he adored. He also loved spending time with his sons as they were growing up.
After a back injury Ron became a realtor. In 1997 he started with Prudential Reality. This allowed Ron to travel around the Pacific Northwest and meet many people. Ron loved being a realtor and enjoyed fine dining in his last years.
Ron is preceded in death by his parents, Rose and Ed Rogers, as well as his sister Louanne Palmer. He is survived by his sister, Cindy Rogers, brothers Ed (Betty) and Steve Rogers all of California; wife, Loretta Axtman; his 5 sons, Paul Pelt, Steve (Jessica)Rogers of Oregon, Ronnie (Brandi) Rogers, Sean Rogers of Selah and Will (Kayce) Axtman of Toppenish. He also has four grandchildren, Makenna, Jazmine, Jayden and Brayanne.
Visitation can be made Monday June 23, 2014 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM in the Keith & Keith Funeral Home.
Memorial services will be conducted Tuesday at 5:00 PM in the Keith & Keith 9th Avenue Chapel.
He will be inurned with a private ceremony in Santa Clara, CA.
