Roger Dewey Allen

Roger was born to George and Doris (Skirvin) Allen. He married Eileen Alexander on June 21, 1945 and lived happily with her until her passing on August 22, 1986. Together they had two children, Joy Thayer and Gary Allen. Roger remained alone until he fell in love and married Doris Moldenhauer on July 29, 2008.

Roger served his country as a part of the U.S. Navy from 1944 to 1946. He was a carpenter by trade, and served with the Yakima Fire Dept. until his retirement in 1974 as a lieutenant. His hobbies were: Taking pictures of wildflowers, travel, being on the Ham radio, making things with his hands, bottle hunting, sewing, knitting, crochet, and loved making jewelry. He even taught Doris how to sew! Roger was a member of the American Legion.

He is survived by his wife of seven years, Doris; his children, Joy (Garry) Thayer of McClary, WA, and Gary Allen of Kalispell, MT; his sister in law, Sandra Kath of Pardeeville, WI. He was preceded in death by his parents, his mother in law, Dora Kath, and other aunts and uncles.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 4, 2015 at Langevin El Paraíso Funeral Home from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at Langevin El Paraíso Funeral Home on Thursday, November 5, 2015 at 10 a.m. Interment will be held at West Hills Memorial Park at 12 p.m.
