Robert Theodore Wilson went to be with his Lord and Savior on September 17, 2024 surrounded by his family. Bob was born November 16, 1935. He was raised in Wapato by his mother Ada Menard and father George Wilson. Bob graduated from Wapato High School in 1954. He lived there most of his life except for several years, when he lived in California. He worked at various jobs until July 1, 1963 when he went to work for the Wapato Police Department as a patrol officer. Over the years he worked his way through the ranks and on August 1, 1975 he became Chief of Police in Wapato until July 1, 1989 when he retired.
On June 4, 1965 Bob and his four children married Suzanne Tysver and her four children. They had one more together and raised a blended family. He enjoyed camping and fishing. In later years he got into wood working and made toys for his grandchildren. He also collaborated with one of his friends making trucks and toys that they donated to different organizations. He was very active in the Baptist Church. Over the years Bob and Suzy opened their home to many young people who needed a helping hand. He will be missed by many.
Bob is survived by his wife Suzy of 59 years and seven children Donna (Charles) Beck, Joan (Gene) LaDoux, Deborah (Mark) Ellefson, Leonard Upton, Tim (Judy) Wilson, Debra (Amet) Fretel, Robert Jr (Stacey) Wilson, one brother Bill (Beverly) Wilson, and many loving grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his mother Ada and father George, sister Sue Rickman, and two daughters DeeDee Jones and Candyce Wilson.
