Robert “Bob” Jay Vierra passed away peacefully in his home on May 22nd, 2017 in Yakima, WA after a long battle with cancer. Bob was 75 years of age and was surrounded by his family at the time of his passing.
Bob was born on September 4th, 1941 in Eureka, CA to Gladys and Tony Vierra. He graduated from high school in 1960 in Yakima, WA. Bob married Pat Dalton, his best friend, soulmate and love of his life in 1981. Bob worked tirelessly as a cement mason until his retirement in 1998 with a majority of his work located at the Hanford Nuclear Reservation. His family and friends remember him as a loving, honest, humorous and gentle man that was always willing to help anyone. Bob was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. He spent a great amount of time repairing and building anything he could get his hands on. There was nothing he couldn’t fix. Bob enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren often teaching them new things.
Bob is survived by his loving wife Patricia Jane Vierra of Yakima, WA; son Robert J. Vierra (Lori Scranton) of Tacoma, WA; daughter LaSeena Vierra-Beach (Tim Nestegard) of Hungry Horse MT; Step Children Kelly Morgan, Cathi Henley (Steve), Kimberly Wockner; brother Lester and wife Dottie Krzyzanoski; grandchildren Bobbie (Jason), Stephanie, Debra (Joe) Candith, Cory (Brittney), Morgan, Dustin, Kelli, Kasey (Tony) and Karli; great grandchildren Riley, Maddie, Chloe, Willow, Jade, Tony, Blake, Tristan, Charlie, Lucas, and Haiden.
Please Join our family as we celebrate Bob’s life on June 6th, at 10:00 AM at Keith and Keith Funeral Home, 902 West Yakima Ave. Pastor Phyllis Anderson will be officiating our celebration.
