Dean grew up in White Salmon, WA. Just before high school graduation he joined the Navy on a Kiddie Cruise. He became a radioman on a P21V Neptune.
Dean continued service for our nation working as a Security Officer for the CIA after graduating WSU. He married Lorna Newby and they had three daughters, Courtnay, Julie, and Alicen.
Dean worked as a fire investigator after graduating OSU in forestry. Later, Dean moved to Yakima, WA to become a Real Estate Agent. He became President of the Board of Realtors and was President of Kiwanis Int.While working in real estate he worked as a Private Contractor for the Fed. Gov. The highlight of Dean’s career was as a Security Officer in Russia when the new American Embassy was built. After his first marriage, he met Patty, they were married 20 years. They had many adventures together and worked as a team with their rentals.
Dean was preceded in death by his daughter, Courtnay Douglas, his father, and mother. He leaves behind his sister, Lona (Bob) Rose, and their children; wife, Patty Walker; daughters, Julie (Rob) Barnett and Alicen (Matt) Burke.
Patty’s children, Tammy (Scott) Lenox, Jamie (Charlotte) Brulotte, eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; and many friends.
