I was very fond of Pauline and really enjoyed the year that I was her hospice visitor/volunteer once per week until she moved to Oregon.  We stopped by her new digs once last October on our way to the beach and she greeted me with such love and excitement, it truly touched my heart.  What a lady!  I know she could be quirky, but those things made her unique and fun to tease.  We especially had fun making cookies together and painting wooden Easter eggs, as well as playing numerous card games and anything else that wasn't too strenuous at her house.  She sure loved her candies, and I  loved sharing new ones with her.  I will miss her appreciation of the simple things......plants, the ground squirrels playing outside in her yard, the view from her kitchen, the many cards she got from her family and friends, and the love she shared with her caregivers, allowing her to stay home as long as she could.  I was impressed with the way her family took care of her, even her step-family after Claude passed away.  Bless you all in your loss and I wish you all well as you say goodbye to this special person in  all of our lives!  Amy McDonald, Wapato
