Ora Lee Dahl (Palmer) 85, died June 23, 2012. She was born to Edwin Murray Palmer and Ruby Myrle Palmer (Marston) on September 27, 1926. She was born and raised in Tampico, WA. She, her parents and two brothers lived on a small farm. She graduated in 1944 from Yakima High School which is now A. C. Davis High School. She later attended YVCC. She married Ralph Henry Dahl on April 10, 1948.
Ora worked for Yakima Oil as a bookkeeper until her retirement. She also volunteered at the American Red Cross, the Yakima School District and was a Cub Scout Den Mother. She enjoyed drawing, sewing, and dancing. Her greatest passion, however, was reading, you never saw her without a book in her hand.
She is survived by three sons, Curtis and Kay Dahl of Vancouver, WA, Chris and Janet Dahl of Bonney Lake, WA, and Steve Dahl of Yakima; and one daughter, Katherine and Tom Yunker of Yakima. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Ora is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers, Edwin Palmer and Alvin Palmer and a sister, Ruby Palmer.
The family would like to thank the Memorial Hospice team for their support. They made it possible for mom to be brought home and receive the care she needed in her final days. We would also like to thank Englewood Heights Assisted Living for their love and support for mom and making her feel like part of their family.
A graveside inurnment will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 7, 2012 in the Terrace Heights Memorial Park. Memorials contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Society c/o Keith & Keith Funeral Home.
