Marie had a wonderful childhood in Rifle, Colorado. She graduated from South Denver High School in 1935. She married Willard (Bill) Turner August 20, 1935. They lived in Bremerton, WA during WWII and until the summer of 1950, when they began ranching in East Selah, WA. They had two children, Donna and Terry, who graduated from Selah High School. Marie worked as a dental assistant for Dr. Ernest Jenkins for 17 years.
Bill and Marie were long-standing members of the Yakima First Baptist Church. They were also active members of the Selah chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star, and twice served as Worthy Matron and Patron. Before moving to Renton, Marie was a member of Terrace Heights Baptist Church.
Marie was preceded in death by her husband Bill Turner, son Terry Turner, and grandson Jeffery Turner. She is survived by her daughter Donna (Turner) Nelson, grandchildren Melanie Grove and Darin Nelson, five great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the community at Terrace Heights Baptist church for their loving care of Marie before she moved to Renton.
Visitation will be at Keith & Keith Funeral Home, Wednesday, February 6, 2018 from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. A celebration of Marie’s life will be on Thursday, February 8, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Keith & Keith Funeral Home with a Graveside Committal at West Hills Memorial Park.
