Marie Magdalene Saur was born to Wilhelm and Emilie Saur on April 13, 1931, in Vananda, Montana. Marie was called to her heavenly home by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, October 16, 2022. She was 91 years, 6 months, and 3 days young.
Marie spent most of her childhood in Marsh, Montana, as the third youngest of 11 children. Marie was baptized and confirmed in Marsh and was received into full communion on June 30, 1946.
Marie took various job on a dairy farm where she met the true love of her life, Adolph Dalke. They were married on April 3, 1949 in Shepherd, Montana. They were blessed with six children and set an example to their children and others by living as faithful Christians.
During their lives together they moved several times, finally settling in Yakima, WA. Where the family built a farm, became very active in church activities, and shared their love of God. Marie was truly a lady of many facets with Christ as the center of all. Her natural skills, such as sewing, cooking, and caring for her children brought many blessings to her family. She often took on jobs to help support her family, was proud to receive her GED in the 80s and retired from Snokist Cannery in 1994.
Marie loved traveling to visit friends and family. It was on one such trip, that Marie and Adolph had a joyful, long-awaited reunion with Deanne, a daughter Marie had given up for adoption years earlier. Marie loved her large family. She only wanted to get together with her kids, grandchildren and great-grandchildren to spend time together. She loved playing cards, doing puzzles, polka dancing, and having (at least) weekly calls with everyone. Most importantly, she loved sharing her faith with her family.
Marie is survived by her children: Deanne Marie Flom, Jerrold’s wife Paula Dalke, Jacqueline and her husband Wil Leitch, Joyce and her husband Fred Piske, Joan and her husband Clark Covell, Jewell and her husband Alan Van Horn, 17 grandchildren, and 31 great-grandchildren. Her sister Viola Brausseur and brother Daniel Saur.
Marie is preceded in death by her husband Adolph Dalke, three children: Rev. Jerrold Dalke, Laura Mae, and John Dalke, a daughter-in-law Gisela Dalke, and a great-granddaughter Breanna Bock, her parents Wilhelm and Emilie, step-father Ludwig Nygaard, four brothers: William Saur, Jacob Saur, John Saur, Gerhardt Saur, and four sisters: Ruth (Huft), Dorothy (Huft), Christine (Gaetz), and Anita (Kesler–Koshel.)
