Lillian V. Wood, 86, Yakima, died Wednesday, February 23, 2011 at Willow Springs Care and has been reunited with her husband.
She was born in Bountiful, Utah on February 14, 1925 to Alfred and Annie (Wright) Larsen. She met her future husband, Clyde M. Wood while he was stationed at Fort Lewis serving in the U.S. Army during World War II. They were married on June 19, 1943. Lillian worked at Boeing for a time before retiring and moving with her husband to Yakima in 1985.
She loved her flowers and crocheting. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.
She is survived by her daughter, Darlene Wood and her son, Clyde Wood both of Yakima. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde M. Wood on November 8, 2005; her parents, and a brother, Walter Larsen.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Willow Springs for the loving care of our mother during her stay for the last several years.
Visiting hours will be held from 12 until 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the Keith & Keith Ninth Avenue Chapel. Funeral services will be held at the Keith & Keith Ninth Avenue Chapel, Monday, February 28, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. Concluding services and burial will follow at West Hills Memorial Park.
