Lawrence Walter Martin

Lawrence W. Martin peacefully left us this, February 4th, 2023. Born November 28th, 1935, Lawrence was pre-deceased by his loving parents Lewis and Bessie Martin and his younger sisters Betty Reed and Laverda Schuler.

Larry, as he known by most, wed Phyllis Oyer on April 11th, 1959 and remained wed for 63 years. A true gentleman and skilled fisherman, he was known to regale others with tales of his service in the US Navy and his time on the basketball court at Eastern Washington University.

He is preceded by his eldest son, Steven (Mahala) Martin, and survived by his two sons Gregory Martin and Charles (Christina) Martin. Lawrence's legacy includes 15 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and several loving nieces and nephews. In addition, he will be missed by his beloved Maci, his pet poodle.

Viewing is February 14th, 4-8 p.m., at Keith and Keith Funeral Home, 902 W Yakima Ave, Yakima, WA 98902. A funeral will be held February 15th, 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel at St. Paul’s Cathedral, 15 S 12th Ave, Yakima, WA 98902. A graveside service follows at West Hill Cemetery, 11800 Douglas Rd, Yakima, WA 98908.
