Laura Mae Hovis

She was born on April 3, 1924 in Corvallis, Oregon, fourth of six children of Elmer James Moss and Dora Estel Poisel.

Laura married Oliver Bunch who fathered her only daughter, Delpha Estel, in 1941. In 1956, she re-married Wayne Hovis, who preceded her in death in 1992.

Laura passed peacefully while sleeping. She is survived by her daughter, Delpha E. Allaway, son-in-law Al Allaway, by sister Jackie Heide and by three grandchildren, Valerie Schwarzwalder of Virginia Beach, VA, Annette Wolf of Victor MT, and Michael Smith of Florence MT.

Great-grandchildren (4th generation) are Kristopher, Steven, Brian, Ben, Inga, Megan, Katlin, Ellie, Nathan, Peter, and Rachel. Three additional children are in the 5th generation.

Laura was always active in church projects and a member most recently of Stone Church, Assemblies of God in Yakima.

A graveside service will be held at Tahoma Cemetery on Thursday, April 4, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. A memorial service will be held at the Stone Church, 3303 Englewood Ave., Yakima on Thursday, April 4, at 2:00 p.m.
