He joined the U. S. Coast Guard and was stationed in Hawaii during Pearl Harbor. He was honorably discharged in 1946.
Ken and Rachel lived on and worked the family farm in Wapato until their retirement. Ken was a member of the farming community and several fruit growers associations.
He was a loving husband, father and grandpa, family was very important to him and he never missed an opportunity to lend a hand when needed. He loved to travel in their RV and they were members of the 30-30 club.
Ken is survived by his daughter, Pam (Ron) Bruner of Yakima; son, Gary (Doreen) Taylor of Kennewick; sister, Lucille (Bob) StMary of Yakima; 14 grandchildren and numerous great and great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, a brother and one sister.
He will be greatly missed by his family but we will always remember his love and all those little things only Dad could do to bring laughter. He is now free to fly with Mom, he missed her so much. We love you Dad.

Visitation will be 2:00 p.m., to 5:00 p.m., Sunday, October 31, 2010 and 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, November 1st at Langevin-Mussetter Funeral Home, Yakima.
Private graveside services will be held at Tuesday, November 2, 2010.
