Kathy has a knack for healing; she had the gift not to only heal you mentally but also physically. If you were faced with an ailment she was the one you called. Wherever Kathy went she touched lives with her love and passions for the well being of family and friends.
Kathy had a special connection to the wilderness and adamant about caring for the earth. She loved a good road trip; there were very few back roads in the West she didn’t know.
Her energy would warm a room and might even set it on fire from time to time! Kathy was an extremist she worked hard and played as hard as she worked. Her work ethic couldn’t be matched.
She accomplished many goals, personal and professional. During her years with Ocean Spray in Markham, Washington, she was proud to be a Labor Union member and a Shop Stewart. She was passionate about education, completed her G.E.D from Grays Harbor Community College, completed multiple certifications from Hallmark School of Allied Health in Texas for Natural Healing, was working on her teaching certification from YVCC, and drove Commercial Truck nationally.
Kathy is survived by her three children, Trina, Tracy (Shasta Basham), and Mike (Katherine) Flanagan. Born the third daughter to Mike and Ruth Flanagan survived by sisters Patricia Flanagan, Margaret Heckathorn and Chris Haga. She has four grandchildren, TJ, Natalie, Joey, and Lexi, and numerous nieces and nephews she loved.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Yakima Valley Memorial Hospice.
A Celebration of life will be held for Kathy on Saturday, October 26, 2013 at 11 am at Keith & Keith Funeral Home
At Kathy’s request any donations should be made to Coats for Kids.
