Joseph James Zepeda, of Yakima, left us April 1, 2011 at the age of 58, at Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital.
Joe lived in Yakima his entire life making friends of everyone he met. Joe attended Moxee Elementary, Washington Middle School, graduating from Davis High in 1972. Joe also went to Yakima Valley Community College where he studied Engineering.
Joe was a big fan of the WWF. He attended nearly every WWF event held in Yakima. Joe would, from time to time, threaten to enter the ring and show___ how to wrestle.
Joe followed the Seahawks and Mariners without fail, and watched as many other games as he could. He could quote team or individual player statistics as easily as stating his birthday.
In 1965 Joe began playing chess with his brothers and dad, from that time on there was always a board in play. Joe enjoyed chess so much there were often three or more boards in play. Joe played thru the mail, by phone-or whatever. He participated in many local tournaments.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents Edmund Zepeda and Helen Zepeda, and an older brother Thomas Noel. He is survived by his sisters Donna Denton and Karen Garcia (Joe); Brothers Robert Noel (Carol), John Zepeda (Margit); also Gilbert, Ted and Ken, Zepeda.
We would like to thank all of our family and friends for their caring and support.
We will miss you Joe!
