He loved all of his many nieces and nephews. He played Santa in many places, sang in the church and the Camerata choirs and had a very good sense of humor.
He was born in Essington, PA on January 8, 1956 to Emma and Robert Short. He met his wife, Mo’Lin Joan Vollendroff-Short, at work catering for the airlines in Philadelphia, PA. They enjoyed many adventures together in their 28 years of marriage. They went camping and travelled to the Poconos, Niagara Falls, Canada sand Disneyland.
They helped with their nieces and nephews, plus became foster parents. Gary was a very loving person who had a love of sports and adapted to being out west and watching the Mariners and Seahawks, but he always kept loyal to his home teams back east in PA watching the Eagles and the Phillies.
Gary and Mo’Lin finally made the commitment to become parents by adopting their daughter Maria Short.
Gary is survived by his wife Mo’Lin “Mo” Short of Yakima, daughter Maria Short of Yakima, 2 brothers: Pastor Raymond (Barb) Short of Bedford, PA and Dan (Mary) Short of Wilmington, DE. Gary will be joining his parents Robert and Emma Short and his older brother and best friend Charles Short in the loving arms of our savior Jesus Christ.
A memorial service will be Thursday, October 10, 2019 at 1:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church.
