Floyd Edmund Beeghly, 86, of Terrace Heights passed on to be with the Lord April 15th at home with his wife (Betty) and children Barbara and Michael (wife Dianne) by his side.
Ed was born May 29th 1925 to William Truman and Victoria Dolly Beeghly in Dubois, Idaho.
He attended school in Yakima. After finishing school, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy serving aboard the USS Independence CVL 22. He found great joy in sharing his many Navy stories with family and friends. A true patriot, he could not have been more proud to serve his country.
After his honorable discharge on February 25, 1946 he went to work for the U.S. Postal Service in Yakima, retiring August 15, 1980.
On May 29, 1946 Ed married his childhood sweetheart Betty Heron of Cowiche. Ed and Betty raised two children, Michael Beeghly and Barbara Milosevich both of Yakima.
Ed was proud of his many accomplishments. He coached, umpired, and sponsored his son’s baseball teams for ten years. He was also an assistant Cub Scout Master for many years. Ed served two terms as president of Postal Branch 852. He was also a life member of the VFW Post #379 of Yakima and a member of the NRA.
Ed and Betty lived in Yakima from 1946 to 1972 when they moved to Moxee to raise sheep.
A few years down the road Ed and Mike developed the property into a mobile home park. Known as Beeghly’s East Valley Mobile Ranch, this family owned business was built from the ground up.
Being outdoors was a very important part of his life. He loved hunting, fishing, and camping with family and friends.
Ed is survived by his wife Betty, with whom he would have celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary on May 29th of this year. He is also survived by his son, Michael Beeghly (wife Dianne) and daughter, Barbara Milosevich; two grand daughters, Tracy Oldham (husband Chris) and Renn Beeghly; triplet grandsons, Michael, Ryan and Joey Milosevich; three great grandchildren, Riley Beeghly, Casey Oldham and Chase Oldham. Ed will be so greatly missed by those who were lucky enough to know him and be a part of his life. NEVER FORGOTTEN, FOREVER LOVED.
Viewing will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, April 19, 2012 at Keith & Keith Ninth Avenue Chapel. A Funeral Service will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, April 20th at the Keith & Keith Terrace Heights Chapel followed by a Graveside Service with Full Military Honors at Terrace Heights Memorial Park.
