Derek Christopher Szabo

A celebration of life for Derek will be held Tuesday, June 25, 2024 at 10:00 AM at West Valley Church of the Nazarene, 7109 W Nob Hill Blvd., Yakima, WA 98908. All family and friends and colleagues are invited to attend.

Derek's interment, open to all to attend, will be at West Hills Memorial Park, 11800 Douglas Rd, Yakima, WA 98908 Tuesday June 25, 2024 at 12:00 PM.

Derek is survived by his Mother, Karen Storey, Father David Szabo, Stepmother Susan Starr, Mothers-in-law Kim Brumbelow and Marcia Petros, Fathers-in-law Don Brumbelow and Gary Petros, Brothers Craig Szabo, Keith Szabo, and Rod Szabo, Sister Maya Storey and Sisters-in-law Joy Szabo, Tanya Szabo, Michelle Lee and Ticha Seeruksa Petros, Brothers-in-law Alex Petros and Ryan Lee, Grandmother-in-law Beatrice Comeau, nephews Zachary Szabo, Caleb Szabo, Jordan Szabo and August Lee, numerous Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins, and countless friends who had the opportunity to share life with Derek.

A social event will be held following interment at a location to be determined at 3:00 PM Tuesday, June 25, 2024 in Yakima. Please plan to come share your memories of life with Derek with family and friends as we begin to heal from the pain of his untimely passing.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to YWCA of Yakima.
