She was born on September 4, 1949, in San Diego to Vade and Esther (Nisius) Dean. In her beloved San Diego hometown, she met and married the love of her life, Bill Vogel. They were married 42 years and she supported him for over 30 years as a military wife. Her primary focus was as a wife and mother, but she enjoyed working later in life at jobs that included Yakima Airport Security (Olympic Security and TSA) and driving for Hertz Car Rental.
She loved being at home with her mother, Esther, husband, Bill, and daughter, Angela. Her heart was huge and giving. She loved animals of all types, especially the many cats and birds that shared her life throughout the years. Her caring nature shone in her sense of fun. She loved to laugh and share silliness, jokes and puns. Her heart was always with her family and friends, happy to help in any way she could, Her world ran on love.
She is survived by her daughter, Angela Vogel-Orton, son-in-law Michael Orton and grandchild Racket Orton of Salem, Oregon. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday August 2nd at Keith & Keith 9th Ave Chapel. Burial will be held on August 5th at Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent, WA.
