Daniel Escamilla (The Black Stallion), age 30, was born in Toppenish WA on June 27,1989 to Jose Luis Escamilla & Josie Rocha. He was raised in a strong Apostolic-Christian home. On September 12, 2004 he gave his life to Jesus Christ. He was baptized and filled with the Holy Ghost. One of his last wishes was that his children will grow up in the same faith and have a personal relationship with Jesus. The Lord made the ultimate decision and took him on January 24,2020.
Daniel was raised and lived in Selah, WA. Daniel Graduated from Selah High School and was very well known to everyone. He played football and loved wrestling in high school. He was Homecoming King and the Selah State Champion 41-0 in 2008. A victory he was very proud of! Daniel received a full ride college wrestling scholarship out of state, but he turned it down to begin a family. He found a career as a Salesmen at Brian Harris used cars known as the "Son N Law" and was one of the best they had! Daniel was a Coach for the Little Warriors team, the team his son Dominic is on. He looked forward to always attending both Dom's and Olivia's extracurricular activities! He never missed a game or practice.
Daniel's number one priority was always putting his family first! He did anything and everything to make them happy. He supported his children in every sport they did, gymnastics, baseball, football, dance, golf, and cheerleading. He was their number one fan and always will be.
If you knew Daniel, you knew how happy he always was! His smile lit up the whole room. He was very blunt, and honest. He'd crack jokes and would make fun of you and you couldn't even get mad at him for it! He was the biggest teddy bear and never hurt anyone intentionally. He would give the shirt off his back for anyone. If anyone needed help financially, emotionally, or just needed a friend to talk to, he was always there for them. He cherished those close to him. He had the biggest heart and you could always count on him no matter what.
Daniel will be defined by the great accomplishments he made in this life. Above all he will be remembered as a great father who put his kids before everything. Daniel will be dearly missed by all his family. He is at peace now.
He is preceded in death by his cousin Napoleon Prado Jr. Daniel is survived by his two children, Dominic Escamilla & Olivia Escamilla. Mother Josie Rocha (Matt), Father Jose Luis Escamilla, Brother Luis Escamilla (Brenda), Sister Belen Lopez (Jonathan), Sister Delila Escamilla (Darrell), Brother Jeremiah Coronado, Grandparents Adolfo & Margie Coronado, Grandparents Luis Escamilla-Vargas & Juana Mendoza-Villalvaso and numerous uncles, aunts, and cousins.
Public viewing will be held at Langevin-El Paraiso Funeral Home Wednesday, January 29, 2020 from 6pm to 8pm. Funeral Service will be held at The Journey Church, 903 Lindy Lane Yakima WA 98901 Thursday January 30, 2020 at 10am with the burial following at Terrace Heights Memorial Park.
