Christine Junt, 88, of Yakima, died peacefully at home with family on Tuesday April 24, 2018 at 3:33 p.m. She was born December 15, 1929 in Dickinson, N.D. to Mary and Joseph M. Frank. Christine lived in Yakima since 1944. On June 18, 1947 she married Paul Junt at St. Paul’s Cathedral in Yakima. They were married 55 years. They loved to laugh, dance, play cards, fish, travel in their camper and be with friends and family. They were members of the American Legion, VFW, and the Eagles. It was always fun to be in their company! Preceding Christine in death are her husband Paul, her sister Ginger Jahner, her brother Paul Frank, and her son Marvin who died at the age of 15 as the result of a head injury sustained in a car accident in September of 1976.
She enjoyed flowers in her yard and inside her home. Her favorite outdoor flowers were big bright red and yellow tulips planted in the front yard under the kitchen window. Every Easter she received lilies and placed them on the front porch. On her birthday she was given the largest red poinsettia found in town.
Christine is survived by her daughter Sylvia Junt of Renton, her son Ken and his wife Kris Junt of Yakima, her son Gary Junt of Yakima, her brother Ben and his wife Marleen Frank of Yakima, her sister Lillian of Yakima, her sister Bertha and her husband Frank Seeberger of Yakima, her brother Mike of Carnation, her brother Ted of Las Vegas, her brother Ernie and his wife Judy Frank of Yakima, her sister Monica of Kent, seven grandchildren: Rob, Christopher, Johanna, Amelia, Nick, Cody and Kane, and six great grandchildren: Harrison and Oliver, Ian and Catherine, Krishandra and Kendra.
