Carole J. Floyd of Yakima Washington passed away on January 16th, 2016 after a very brief illness. Carole was born on September 10th 1932 in Portland Oregon to Harry and Rose Hacker. Her family moved to the Seattle area where Carole spent her younger years. The family moved to Yakima when she was 15 years old. Carole attended Davis High. She met her husband Walter “Bill” Floyd in 1949. They married a few months later and enjoyed a wonderful 63 years together before Bill passed in 2012. They traveled extensively through the years. Carole enjoyed bowling, golf, gardening, decorating her home and loved her Bassett Hounds.
Carole was preceded in death by her Parents Harry Hacker and Rose Tolman, her sister Marcy Hacker and her younger Brother Dennis Hacker. Her Husband Walter “Bill” Floyd and two sons, C. Rand Floyd and W. “Bill” Floyd. She is survived by her daughter Karen (Case) Schilder; her son David (Vickie) Floyd; granddaughter Jennifer Floyd, grandson’s Scott Ramirez and Greg Buchanan, his fiancé, Melody Harris and her Great Granddaughter, Brooklyn.
Services will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, January 30th 2016 at Terrace Heights Memorial Park in the Rainier Chapel, Yakima WA.
A reception will follow at Carole Floyd’s home.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St Jude’s Children’s Hospital in Carole’s name.
