He passed away on Sunday, September 27, 2020 at Virginia Mason Memorial Hospital in Yakima following a recent stroke and subsequent emergency surgery.
Brian was born to A.M. (“Bud”) Anderson and Marjorie Pagelow Anderson on December 18, 1945 in Bremerton, WA.
At about 4 or 5 years old the family moved to Kennewick, WA. Here he attended kindergarten and first grade. They then moved to Yakima, WA. He attended Castlevale and Nob Hill grade schools, Wilson Junior High School, and West Valley High School - graduating in 1964. He briefly attended Yakima Valley Junior College before enlisting in the United States Army Reserve where he proudly served his country for 15 years. His final discharge was on February 10, 1982 with the rank of SFC E7.
Brian had two prior marriages. His first was to his high school sweetheart, Linda Heironimus, and his second was to Sue Stewart. His third and last marriage was to Irene Paulsen Dearing in Yakima on October 30, 1991.
Brian co-owned and operated Mobile Manor in Yakima with his two older brothers for about 40 years. He was a people person and took great pride in managing and maintaining the mobile home court.
His many hobbies consisted of jet skiing, snowmobiling and boating. His most recent hobby and passion was his collection of classic cars which he maintained and proudly showed at a variety of car shows and events throughout Washington State and Oregon. He didn’t just show his cars – he drove them all over town… and often. Over the years he cultivated many new lasting friendships throughout the local car clubs.
He also enjoyed going on vacations – our most favorite go-to place being Seattle. Additionally, we took many trips to Vancouver and Victoria, B.C. and two special trips – one to Kamloops, B.C., and the other to Banff, Alberta, Canada. Other “ports of call” included Reno, NV several times and Las Vegas once where we also visited the outlying areas/towns including Hoover Dam and Red Rock Canyon. Additional travels included numerous World Mark Resorts on the Washington and Oregon coasts, and Yellowstone National Park. A trip had been planned this past spring to visit Mt. Rushmore and other national parks in South Dakota, but the arrival of Covid 19 prompted us to cancel.
His affiliations consisted of being a member of the Yakima IFA #38 Footprinters; past president of the Yakima Unit Washington Mobile Park Owners Association; charter member (1973) of the Yakima Valley Vettes; Member of the Yakima American Classic Metal car club; member of the Yakima American Legion Post 36; member of the Yakima Valley Boat Club and member of the Pacific Northwest Rolls-Royce Owners Club (RROC).
Brian was preceded in death by both his father, A. M. “Bud” Anderson (1981) and his mother, Marjorie A. Anderson (2007).
He is survived by his spouse, his brothers Jeffrey (Linda) Anderson, Gregory (Peggy) Anderson, step-son Scott (Terry) Dearing, as well as four nieces (Lisa, Holly, Tammy, and Kristine) and one nephew (Alex). And lastly his cat, Bella (Fluff Butt)!
