Bradley Daniel Campbell, 50, of Yakima, Washington, departed this life on Thursday, March 20, 2025, at MultiCare Yakima Memorial Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Brad was born January 4, 1975, in Yakima. He was an easy going, sweet natured child from the very beginning. He stole everyone's heart immediately. By the time he had turned 2 years old, Roger came into his and Barbara's lives, and they instantly became a tight knit family. When Brad turned 4, his brother Brandon was born, and by the time he was 6 years old, Brett was added to the family. From thereafter, these three brothers were simply known to everyone as “The Boys.”
His love of baseball began at an early age and continued all through his life. He collected and saved thousands of baseball cards throughout the years. Brad and his brothers were avid baseball players with their dad coaching their teams growing up. During these early years attending the church his grandparents pastored, Brad developed his lifelong faith and trust in God.
He attended West Valley Junior High and High School, graduating in 1993, and lettering in baseball three years in a row. Brad was a gifted athlete and could play any position on the baseball field. After high school, he continued his athletic career playing on various slow-pitch softball teams alongside his father, brothers, aunts, and uncles for the family company sponsored team, Dan Leslie Roofing.
At 19 years old Brad became a roofer joining the family business that his grandfather started, known today as Leslie & Campbell Inc. Although he was younger, Brad became a foreman in his mid-twenties and ran crews. Despite his age, Brad was a natural and very sharp at figuring things out on the fly. He was very good at what he did and helped many who came behind him learn the roofing trade. In 2010 Brad moved into the office management, along with his brothers and cousins, and in 2018 they transitioned into ownership of the company. He was proud to be part of Leslie & Campbell, Inc.
In 2003 Brad's proudest accomplishment arrived when he and Jami welcomed their first-born daughter, Alyssa Brooke into the world. His pride and joy continued when Ivy Marie (2013) and Beau Augustus (2016) were born to him and Lorisa. Being a father to these three children was truly Brad's greatest joy. He always had a twinkle in his eye when he talked about each of them. Their successes were his successes. He would be misty-eyed whenever he witnessed his children complete a milestone or showcase their talents, such as Alyssa graduating high school and pursuing higher education at EWU, Ivy being selected to sing with an Allstate Honors Choir in Spokane, or Beau hitting a home run in baseball. He was such a proud father.
As a music lover, he instilled good taste in his children. When driving with Alyssa, Brad would always play "I Will Wait" by Mumford & Sons. With all three kids he would blast "Free Bird" by Lynyrd Sknynrd in the house, where dance parties would ensue.
He enjoyed watching football and baseball with family and friends as well as fishing and hunting with his dad and brothers, Brett and Brandon. He loved playing fantasy football, pool, and darts. He was a loyal fan of the Mariners and Seahawks and looked forward to each new season. He also loved spending time with the many dogs he had throughout his life. Razor riding in the mountains with his parents, brothers, and children was a favorite activity for Brad.
A year before his passing Brad, his father, and his brothers went on a fishing trip to the Columbia River where they fished for walleye and caught some bass as well. Before the trip, the brothers all bet a beer or five dollars on who could catch the most fish. Brad did, winning the brotherly bet.
Brad will be remembered for his kind and generous heart, infectious laugh, laid-back personality, and immense unwavering love for his three beautiful children. If you were his friend, you could always trust that he would have your back. So many friends and family have described loyalty as his greatest attribute.
When we remember Brad, we will remember how he lived his life with purpose, meaning, love, and loyalty. He was an intentional man with people he interacted with. Although he had little need for material things, he never denied those things to those he cared for. The profound impact his life had on the lives of those who had the pleasure of knowing him will never be forgotten. He was one of the truly great individuals who rarely happen along in life.
Bradley Daniel Campbell is survived by his children, Alyssa Brooke, Ivy Marie, and Beau Augustus; his former wives and mothers to his children, Jami Campbell (Alyssa) and Lorisa Loyd (Ivy and Beau); his current companion Soneya Lund and her son Nate; his parents, Roger and Barbara Campbell; his brothers, Brandon Campbell and Brett Campbell; his aunts and uncles, Carol (Steven) Smith, Brenda (Gary) Choate, Renee Campbell Bunting, and Randy Campbell; and numerous cousins and extended family.
