Barbara Jean Corbin, 70, passed away peacefully with her loving husband, David at her side, on October 28, 2023 at the Hospice House, Kennewick, Washington. Barb was a beloved wife, sister, aunt, cousin and friend. She will be dearly missed by her family and lifelong friends.
Barb was born November 2, 1952 in Yakima, Washington to Loretta and Louis Poznanski. She grew up in Yakima, attending Broadway Elementary, Lewis and Clark Middle School and Eisenhower High School. Although school wasn’t always her main focus, she was a social butterfly and the life of the party – forming lifelong friendships that she treasured! After she graduated in 1971, she began working at the local Pay n Pak and later at Bi-Mart. She loved spending time with her friends, making memories, and would often be out at the local hot spot dancing the night away!
In 1987, she met the love of her life, David J. Corbin. They were married on August 27, 1987 at the Yerges residence in Tacoma, Washington. Early in their marriage they moved to Santa Rosa, California, where they spent a few years in the sunny state before relocating to Beaverton, Oregon. It was there that Barb began working at Tualatin Valley Building Supply in the sales department before relocating to Hermiston, Oregon. During their time in Hermiston Barb worked at Mr. Insulation and then her and Dave formed their own construction company, Corbin Classic Homes. In 2000, they moved to the Tri-Cities area, where they settled in Kennewick. Barb and Dave enjoyed working side by side, over the next 10 years helping families realize their dream of home ownership. Their construction expertise also allowed them to build a few Parade Homes in Oregon and Kennewick. They loved traveling, RVing, spending time with their cherished pets (Sasha, Mia & Mollie), running their successful business, decorating for every holiday, hosting family and friends at parties, and Christmas Eve’s very special tradition of Whooshki soup! Most of all, Barb loved her family and enjoyed time she spent with them. She was a natural nurturer, always caring for others. She became the caregiver for her mom for many years and her sister-in-law Musette in her final days.
Barb is survived by her loving husband and best friend Dave, her oldest brother Robert Poznanski (LuWanita), sister Linda Warter (George), and her youngest brother Rick Poznanski (Lisa), her brother-in-law Clarence Corbin, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins, who were beside her in her final days.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Loretta and Louis Poznanski, her sister-in-law Musette Poznanski, her In-laws Marian and Clarence Corbin and her sister-in-law Sandra Amaral.
Barbs family would like to extend their sincere gratitude and thankfulness to the medical staff at Trios Hospital and the Hospice House in Kennewick. The love and care she received was exceptional.
