Albert Russell Hull “Corky” was born to Ivy Alice James and Albert Guthrie Hull February 6, 1930 in Salt Lake City, Utah and died at age 86 November 7, 2016 in Yakima Washington. He is preceded in death by brothers William J. and Thomas Earl, and sister Marion Ruth. Raised on the family farm near Sandy, Utah, Corky graduated Bingham High School, and then served in the Air Force as a radio repairman in Japan during the Korean War. With an honorable discharge as Staff Sergeant 1952 in Spokane Washington, he joined the Roman Catholic Church and married Joanne M. Bachmeier. Returning to Salt Lake City, Corky worked as a brakeman on a train in the Kennecott mine. Seeking greener pastures, Corky accepted his father in law’s offer in 1967 to raise their family of 7 on the Bachmeier farm in the Yakima Valley. In 1975 Corky married his second wife Leta Ann Gamache. They spent the next several years traveling western States helping his brother build golf courses. After Leta’s death in 1994, Corky worked as a landscaper for the Russ Wilkinson Family of Yakima until recent. Corky loved landscaping, gardening, his family, and nurtured lasting relationships with many friends. He was never one to accept charitable offerings, but always ready to give. Corky is survived by his children David, Brian, Marianne, Jerald, and Linda, nine grandchildren, and six great grandchildren. Celebration of Life services Sunday November 20, 1:00pm at Albert Hull Park 212 North Naches Avenue, Yakima WA. In lieu of flowers, Corky’s survivors request donations to the Memorial Foundation in honor of Albert Russell Hull at memfound.org.
