Sally Ann Rench, age 82, peacefully left this world and entered into heaven on October 31, 2022 with her devoted husband of 61 years at her bedside at Danbury Senior Living in Columbus, OH, where they have resided since June 2022. She was born in Martins Ferry, OH to Irene and Henry Sadowski and was the middle child of 3 daughters.
Sally is survived by husband Dr. Michael J Rench; children, Bradley (Soma) Rench, Tami (Kevin) Gimre and Heidi (Mark) Johnson; grandchildren, Joshua (Haley), Mae Elizabeth, Jason, Nathan, Sarah, and Radha; great-granddaughter, Kaitlyn; sister, Susan (Edd) Van Horn; nieces and nephews, their children; and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister Nancy Audette.
Sally was a daughter, a sister, a friend, a Christian, a sister-in-law, a wife, a daughter-in-law, an aunt, a mom, a mother, a 2nd mom, a mom to foster babies, a mother-in-law, a MeMee, and a Gigi. She was an innovative problem solver, a handy seamstress, a family dog lover, a well-organized home manager, a prolific photo album creator, an expert room re-arranger, a confidence booster, a caring 1st grade teacher, a loving Olivet preschool teacher, a faithful Sunday school teacher, and a willing church volunteer. Sally was a Marco Island beach walker, a Mackinac Island repeat visitor, an Adak, Alaska resident, a Devil’s Lake cottage weekend resident, a Sylvania resident, an Ottawa Hills resident, a Stone Oak resident, and a Toledo resident. She was an orange Volkswagen Bug driver, a Neil Diamond concert goer, a Bid Euchre player, a Muffy bear collector, a Buckeye football fan, a fashion follower, a Talbots shopper, an Inverness hole-in-one golfer, a bowling league substitute, a master home chef, and a recipe book author. She was a Camp MeMee & Grandad director when grandkids were young and a Monthly Fun Funds provider when grandkids were collegiate. Sally was a holiday, birthday, and celebration planner and decorator extraordinaire. Her care, generosity, and love for family and friends was always being expressed and she will be greatly missed.
Sally and Mike found their spiritual home in the Catholic Church in August 2020. Funeral mass will begin at 11 am at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Parish (750 Bright Rd, Findlay) on November 12 with graveside services at 12:30 pm at McComb Union Cemetery (W Main St, McComb).
Selfless Sally made the decision early in her diagnosis of Parkinson’s to donate her brain tissue upon death in hopes of furthering the advancement in Parkinson’s research.
