Roger E. Johnson, 95, of Delaware, passed away on May 11, 2024, after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer’s disease. He was born on August 27 to the late Thomas E. and Margaret T. (Love) Johnson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by the love of his life, Betty Johnson. Roger was the oldest son of 7 brothers and sisters. Rosemary, Lois, Lucille, Carol and Bruce. Roger will be greatly missed by his children, Jennie L. Eversole and Nancy (Rick) Johnson. He was loved by his four grandchildren, Kenneth E. Cayton, Jennifer M. Deering (Cayton), Geoffrey A. Cayton, and Jasper (Jayden) Eversole; and his brother Dean Johnson.
Roger was a 1952 graduate of the Ohio State University with a Bachelors Science in Business.
Roger was an employee of the United States Postal Service from 1965 to 1997. Other occupations include house painter and Highway Patrolman.
Roger was a WWII Veteran with the United States Navy from 1946-1947
Roger was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved to tinker around the house, working on cars and doing yard work.
A funeral celebrating Roger’s life will be held on Friday, May 17, 2024 at Schoedinger Worthington at 11:00am. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Kingwood Memorial Park.
