Robert “Don” Schueler, Jr., of Columbus passed away unexpectedly on March 1, 2023. Don was born on September 10, 1941 in Erie, PA to his parents Robert D. Schueler, Sr. and Idamay (Phillips) Schueler.
Don had an extensive career as an engineer. He traveled the globe extensively for work and also worked for the military. He was with the SAME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Committee for 40 years, The National Board of Boilers and Pressure Vessel Inspectors for 30 years, and on the Steam Locomotive Committee National Board for 20 years. Don was Past Master of the New England Masonic Lodge #4 and 32nd degree Scottish Rite Knights Templar York Rite. He will be remembered for his intelligence, his storytelling skills, his Christmas Fantasy toy trains that he did for neighborhood children, as well as for his very generous heart and giving spirit.
Don is preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Josephine “Jo” Schueler. Don is survived by his fiancé and loving companion Dorothy “Dot” Pasden, brother Albert Schueler, sister-in-law Betty (Jorge) Perez, nephews A. J. Santillo, Andrew Santillo, and Bob (Amie Greene) Schueler, nieces Michele Hernandez, Savina (Matthew) Moffet, Ariana Hernandez, Christine (Steve) Roach and Carol (Josh Adkins) Schueler, Dot’s children J. Greg (Rose) Pasden and Becky (Paul) Chatel.
Don’s family will receive visitors from 4pm to 7pm on Friday, March 10th at Schoedinger Funeral and Cremation Service, 6699 N. High Street, Worthington, Ohio. A memorial Mass will be officiated by Father Petry at 11:00am on Saturday, March 11th at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 1300 Urban Drive, Columbus, Ohio. Don’s final resting place will be at Calvary Cemetery in Merced, California.
