Rita Beatrice (Inden), age 83, peacefully went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, February 4th. She was born August 13, 1938 in New York to German immigrant parents. She had many fond memories growing up in Midtown Manhattan, including attending hockey games and ice skating at the Rockefeller Center with her dad and brother. She worked as an executive secretary for an investment firm in Midtown, after having graduated from the prestigious Katharine Gibbs School. She loved city life, whether watching Macy's Christmas parades downtown, shopping at Sax Fifth Avenue and Lord & Taylor, or attending Rockettes performances and Broadway musicals at Radio City Music Hall.
It was at Radio City Music Hall that Rita met her husband of 59 years, Richard, her best friend and rock during years of chronic illness, and he survives. Rita is also survived by her children Susan (Matt) Fisher and Sallie (Mark) Bowen; grandchildren Madelyn Fisher, Adeleigh Miller, Clayton Miller and Tyler Bowen; great-grandchild Estella Parilla, as well as many relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hubert and Elsa Inden, and her beloved brother, Hubert (Bob).
Rita will be fondly remembered by those whose lives she touched for many things - her ability to make others laugh with her storytelling and sense of humor; her love of all things chocolate; her passion for watching sports on tv (especially tennis matches and OSU football games), and playing games with her children and grandchildren.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 16, 2022 from 10am-12pm following a service at 12pm at SCHOEDINGER WORTHINGTON 6699 N High St, Worthington, Ohio 43085. Interment will be at Pioneer Cemetery in Westerville. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Columbus Arthritis Foundation, 3740 Ridge Mill Dr, Hilliard, OH 43026.
