Michael “Lunch” Lonchar, age 73, passed away Sunday, April 14, 2024. He was born May 17, 1950, in Columbus, OH to the late Tom and Julia Lonchar. Mike is survived by loving wife of 44 years, Lee Ann Lonchar, daughter, Julia (Nick Goode) Lonchar, nephews; Jason (Michelle) Lonchar, and Michael Lonchar, great nephews; Marek and Xander Lonchar, loyal companions; Gus and Juls his beloved dogs, along with many other dear family and friends. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by, step mother, Helen Lonchar, and brother, Richard “Dick” (Ann) Lonchar.
Mike graduated from Ohio University in Athens, OH, as a member of the Phi Delta fraternity. He earned his Bachelor's degree in Architecture and embarked on a successful career in the field. During his time at university, he met his beloved wife, Lee Ann, and together they welcomed their daughter, Julia, into the world. They eventually made their home in Columbus, Ohio.
A man of intellect, humor, and kindness, Mike endeared himself to all who knew him. His love for golf and football, particularly his unwavering support for the Cleveland Browns, was a defining aspect of his character. Mike was renowned for his culinary skills, inherited from his mother and refined through his avid viewing of cooking shows on the Food Network.
With piercing blue eyes that left a lasting impression, Mike exuded warmth and brightness in every interaction. His presence brought joy and comfort to those around him, and his absence will be felt by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
