Maxine Frye, 96, of Worthington, passed away on July 26, 2022. She was born on April 7, 1926, in Griffithsvile WV, to the late Robert and Stacy (Hill) Tudor. In addition to her parents, Maxine was preceded in death by her husband, William Frye, five sisters Annie Cooper, Lillian Nester, Margie Fitzwater, Erma Tinch and Helena Tudor, eight brothers Arthur, Lloyd, Enoch, Kenzie, Roy, Charlie, Ray Gene, and Edessel Tudor.
A graduate of Hamlin High School in Hamlin, WV, Maxine enjoyed spending time with her family, tending to her vegetable garden, good Southern cooking, reading the Bible, listening to Christian music and television, and helping her neighbors. During her life she lived in several places, including Palermo, WV, Pataskala, OH, the east side of Columbus, OH, and Worthington, OH. Maxine was a long time member of Hillview Free Will Baptist Church in Reynoldsburg, OH.
Maxine will be greatly missed by her daughter, Carolyn Smith; grandchildren, Angie (Andy) Shifflette and Graydon (Jessica) Smith; great-grandchildren, Isabell, Aydon, and Julio Smith, and Andrew and Ashley Shifflette; sister-in-law, Betty Tudor; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and close family friends.
A visitation for Maxine will be held Monday, August 1, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Schoedinger Worthington, 6699 N High Street, Worthington, Ohio 43085. Following the visitation will be a funeral service at 11:00 AM. Internment at Glen Rest Memorial Estate in Reynoldsburg.
