

Linda Kay Wood of Columbus, Ohio, passed from this life May 20th, 2023, at Kobacker Hospice Facility after a brief illness. She was born October 27th, 1945, in Kenton, Ohio to the late Kenneth and Elnora Wood. She is survived by her brother, Steven Wood of Frankfort, Ohio, numerous nieces and nephews, and her lifelong friends, Susan Jennings and Marlene Babcock.
Linda graduated from Ohio State University with a Batchelor of Arts degree in 1967, and from the University of Pittsburgh with a Masters degree in Library Science in 1968. After graduation, she joined the Vista Program for a year, helping to establish a library in rural West Virginia. Linda was employed by the Columbus Metropolitan Library where she served as supervisor of the reference department. During her time there, she formed many lasting friendships.
Linda was a member of Central Presbyterian Church in Columbus, serving as an elder until it's closing in 2011. She then joined Overbrook Presbyterian Church where she served as a deacon. She also sang in the choir at both locations. Linda volunteered at church sponsored lunch sites providing meals for the needy. She also volunteered at the YWCA Family Shelter.
Linda took great joy in traveling with her friends, Marlene and Susan. Over the years, they visited multiple countries in Europe, several cities in Canada, and many states including Hawaii.
A memorial service celebrating Linda's life will be held at Overbrook Presbyterian Church in Clintonville on Friday, June 9th at 2:00 with a reception to follow.
