Linda Fultz Souder, 76, of Westerville, Ohio passed away on September 12, 2022. She was born on February 17, 1946, in Columbus Ohio to the late James Allen and Minnie (Barch) Fultz. Linda was predeceased by her beloved husband, David Ross Souder, in 2008. She is survived by her loving fiancé, Jerry Sanborn; her children, Laura (Stone) James and Lindsay Souder; three grandchildren; sisters Janet (Noel) Guitry and Karen (Terry) Louden; brother James (Beverly) Fultz; and her fiancé’s children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren all of whom she embraced as her own family. Linda also leaves behind numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, friends, colleagues, and students who loved her dearly.
A kind and loving soul, Linda dedicated her life to educating children, working nearly thirty-four years for Columbus Public Schools. Most notably she served as a Specific Learning Disabilities Tutor for Indianola Informal School. Many of her students still revere her today for changing their lives for the better, as she touched the hearts and minds of many. Linda held a bachelor’s degree in Education from The Ohio State University and was a lifelong Buckeye devotee.
In retirement, Linda enjoyed many hobbies, particularly collecting antiques and artwork. She enjoyed auctions, estate sales, and running her own small antiques reselling business for years. She spent the last five years of her life traveling all over the country with her fiancé and putting a beautiful home together with him. Further, Linda was a friend to small rescue dogs and cherished her pets. She is survived by her Shih Tzu Jack and in passing she is now reunited with her precious Maltese, Chappie, and Toy Poodle, Buppy.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, September 18, 2022, from 2-5pm at Schoedinger Funeral Service, 6699 N. High Street, Worthington. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. James the Less Catholic Church, 1652 Oakland Park Avenue, Columbus on Monday, September 19, 2022, at 10:30am followed by interment at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Lockbourne, Ohio.
